Description

The museum is housed in the former Oregon Power Company Transformer Station, Originally constructed in 1911. It is situated in the heart of historic downtown Springfield and is surrounded by large, colorful murals painted by renouwned artists. Because of its important role in Oregon's early utility industry, the building is listed on the national register of historic places.

History

Artifact Collections

Significant collection of Logging artifacts, photos, ledgers. plus railrod memoribilia that served the industry. We have a permanent exhibit of 2500 sq.ft. that chronicles the history of Springfield. and another 2000 sq.ft. of special exhibit space. We also oversee the train depot that is adjacent to the city park and the local mill race.
