Museum Hours

We have been restoring this building. In Sept. 2004 we will reopen the first floor of the museum and celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Aarons wedding

Description

The vision of this Board is the restore the building to its original appearance. We will complete the first floor by september 2004 and reopen for tours. We are striving to reacquaint residents as well as visitors with the marvelous history of Marysville, its people and the life styles.

History

The house was originally designed and built by Warren P. Miller, architech and inventor. Construction was started in 1855 and finished in 1856. Mr. Miller was obcessed with the gothic era of design and so the house looks somewhat like a little castle. It was eventually purchased by Francis and Mary Aaron in 1874. After the death of their only son, Charles Francis Aaron, in 1955, the house was willed to the City of Marysville, with the express purpose of turning it into a museum to be named in honor of his mother Mary Bobo Aaron.
