Description

TASM opened to the public in 1998 in a 1940's era hangar owned by the Spartan School of Aeronautics. The museum chronicles the Tulsa area's rich aerospace history specifically and Oklahoma in general. Not only is it a history museum but we also conduct daily classes to teach children about math and science and its relationship to aviation. We recently opened our Spitz ESky theater and planetarium, the first for Tulsa. With a total of 18 acres on the new museum campus we have room to expand with additional museum space.

Artifacts Collections

Aviation and space artifacts including locally built aircraft as well as an F-14A Tomcat.

Research Collections

Aviation and Space library as well as the Tulsa International Airport's photograph collection that dates to 1928. Large photo file of Tulsa aviation to 1906.

Programs

During the school year we offer our STARBASE program that brings area school children to the museum one day a week for five weeks. During the summer we offer our Aerospace Summer Camp. The camps are one week long and grade specific for $198.00. During the school year we offer one day mini-camps on days when children are out of school but parents have to work. We also have a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Aviation Merit Badge Program and Astronomy Badge Program respectively. Docent guided tours are offered for groups of 10 or more.
