The Des Plaines Historical Society seeks applicants for the FT position of Collections Manager who will work closely with Archives Manager to coordinate an ongoing project to catalogue and digitize both two and three dimensional materials on IO.
Salary: $30,500.00, benefits.
Qualifications
The position requires:
- A solid background in collections management, procedures and practices
- The ability to evaluate a backlog of materials for processing.
- Strong appreciation for local history
- Excellent verbal, written and research skills.
- At least three years collections management experience.
- Masters in Museum Studies or Historical Administration preferred.
The Collections Manager needs to be focused, yet flexible within the museum environment which includes a dynamic program calendar, a variety of exhibit installations both on and off-site, and an active Historical Society fundraising initiative.
