The Dallas Museum of Art is seeking an exceptional development professional to serve in the critical and visible role of Associate Director of Development. The Associate Director will function as second-in-command of the Department, leading day-to-day management of a staff of 22 and achieving fundraising objectives for the Annual Fund and capital campaign.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation of annual development plans and budgets, and manage to those (including making mid-course corrections as appropriate to achieve annual objectives).
  • Analyze and report performance to the Director of Development, Director of the Museum, and Trustees.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate five development senior managers, and provide support and guidance to all staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies that expand Museum membership and Planned Giving participation.
  • Directly cultivate and solicit from a caseload of individual donors and prospects.
  • Qualifications
  • BA/BS required; CFRE desired
  • Five+ years of broad development experience.
  • Talent for managing and motivating a large and superb team.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing and growing a membership service program
  • Directing comprehensive donor and customer relations’ initiatives
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and emerging e-commerce fundraising techniques
