The new Children’s Museum San Diego defines a new path — a contemporary art museum for families. It will foster the creative and artistic potential of children by providing hands-on art opportunities in a venue where contemporary artists will be commissioned to create sophisticated art for a youth audience.

As a model of sustainable architecture designed by Rob Wellington Quigley, the new facility will be the first green museum to open in California.

Serving an annual audience of 200,000 children and their families from the greater San Diego / Tijuana region, the Children’s Museum will fulfill its mission as a truly bi-national institution.

Focused on learning through the arts, the new Children’s Museum will be a world class facility and institution demonstrating the impact the arts can have on children and families.
