Primary Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the staff development team and development committee of the board of directors, determines corporate fundraising strategies and goals to grow core and project support.
  • Prepares work plans and goals for timely completion of development projects.
  • Creates corporate giving proposals, budgets and progress reports on deadline, coordinating the input and schedules of staff in contributing departments.
  • Responsible for implementing corporate donor benefits.
  • Ensures all corporate gift donations are properly recognized through appropriate acknowledgements, and phone calls.
  • Identifies potential alliances with companies and cultivates, engages and follows up with companies.
  • Identifies, solicits, and follows up with companies for in-kind donations of goods and services.
  • Oversees a Corporate Membership program including the planning and implementing direct mail, events, programs and appropriate benefits that are commensurate with levels of membership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in related area of study.

Experience: Two years experience in corporate and/or foundation giving. Successful record of measurable achievement in the solicitation of corporate donations and grants or two years experience in assertive sales. Must be committed, and sensitive, to working with children. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent administrative and management skills working with both staff and board. Strong relationship- building and salesmanship. Self-starter able to function in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Interacts in a positive manner with all entities and individuals served by the Museum, its programs and events. Demonstrates stability of performance under pressure and uses good judgment in making decisions. Knowledge of professional standards and legal parameters regarding fundraising activities preferred. Expertise with Raiser’s Edge software is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
