The Aviation Museum and Discovery Center projected to open in 2010 was established to help children and adults:
- Discover the wonders of flight from concept to reality.
- Explore the heritage of aviation.
- Dream about the future possibilities of science and technology.
- Engage in life-long learning and critical thinking that promotes national excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Preliminary plans for the 60,000 square foot museum include a theater, meeting rooms and classrooms, and indoor exhibit space large enough to display a C-5.
Primary Responsibilities
The Aviation Museum & Discovery Center projected to open in 2010 seeks a full-time Director of Programs responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive education program complete with in-house and outreach programming.
Qualifications
A minimum of four years experience including experience supervising volunteers, tracking budgets, conducting program evaluation and managing program resources. Bachelors’ degree in science or education, familiarity with GA K-12 Science Curriculum, and working knowledge of STEM sciences & concepts required. Exhibit design and collections care skills are a plus.
