Primary Responsibilities
  • Facilitating all aspects of the birthday party program including engaging with party guests by leading participatory activities in the party room and throughout the museum.
  • Handle logistics of the party: clean up and set up between parties, greeting host/hostess and birthday party child, answering questions, preparing goodie bags and other related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree in education, art education or related field
Experience: A minimum of two years experience working with children, facilitating activities, special events, birthday party programs, or other teaching experience. Outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, creative. Must be committed, and sensitive, to working with children. Excellent communication skills, a commitment to visitor service is required. Organizational skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently. Excellent problem-solving skills; demonstrates sound judgment; works well under pressure. Extremely reliable and dependable.

The majority of work is performed in the museum party room and requires observance of safe work practices, fire regulations, and avoidance of falls, trips, and similar museum safety guidelines and policies. Due to the nature of the position, weekend and evening hours will be required.
Salary $10 - $15 per hour
