Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (AEG) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, a 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.

Due to our continuous growth and expansion into new markets, we are seeking an experienced Education Manager to be an integral member of AEG’s management team at GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, CA.

The Education Manager leads the Education team and develops and manages instructional programs targeted specifically to schools, special events and the local community. In addition to having strong educational skills and a solid professional background, leading candidates will embrace the mission of The GRAMMY Museum. They will invest themselves in the vision and goals of the institution. Candidates should be a person of character and integrity and should have an inclusive and respectful management and leadership style.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing the design and development of comprehensive and innovative programs that recognize and nurture individual creativity, promote participation, and encourage exploration.
  • Design and deliver a far-reaching education strategy and a tactical implementation plan to meet the needs and intent of The GRAMMY Museum.
  • Represent the Education department at the museum and community events.
  • Develop and monitor department budget.
  • Serve as the public face of GRAMMY Museum education in the community.
  • Develop community relationships.
  • Work with the development team on education-related funding opportunities.
  • Expand themes introduced in various aspects of The GRAMMY Museum and leverage the commitment to an open and broad presentation of ideas that promote music, creativity, critical thinking and dialogue.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of three years of management experience leading a strong team of professionals and multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A minimum of three years of solid work experience planning, developing, designing and implementing successful instructional programs with an emphasis on inspiring creativity and innovation throughout the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of and experience in a K-12 learning environment.
  • Experience with program evaluation.
  • Must be energetic, articulate and self-assured, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise a strong presence to convene groups, shape dialogues, and develop and manage productive relationships at all levels of The GRAMMY Museum.
  • Demonstrated maturity and sound judgment are required.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong proficiency in computer technology preferred.
  • Passion for popular music.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Some experience producing educational materials for publication.
  • Proven ability to provide effective customer service for internal and external client groups.
  • Must be detail oriented, with strong organizational skills in order to manage a continuous workflow of a high volume, multi-tasking environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with a dynamic range of people.
