The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation, Inc., a non-profit organization located in Tallahassee, with more than 1600 members statewide, is seeking an Executive Director. The mission of the Florida Trust is to promote the preservation of Florida’s historical and archaeological treasures through education, leadership and advocacy.

The Executive Director is the chief administrative officer of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. The Executive Director is responsible for the daily management of the Florida Trust office and implementation of Board objectives consistent with the organization’s mission, annual plan and financial goals.

The ability to meet strict deadlines and to work cooperatively with grassroots advocates, members, trustees and public officials is imperative. In addition, the ability to travel and to work some evenings and weekends is expected. This position is located in Tallahassee and reports to the Board of Trustees of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation.
Qualifications
• Four year degree required, graduate degree preferred
• Five years increasingly responsible experience with a non-profit organization.
• A current driver’s license and a willingness to travel
• Experience working with a budget and financial record keeping
• Skilled knowledge of Microsoft applications and QuickBooks and the ability to learn and work with alternate membership software.
• Experience supervising paid and volunteer staff

Desired Qualifications:
• Ability to work effectively with people of varying interests and backgrounds, from grass roots advocates to elected officials
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
• Development and fundraising background
• Event planning and implementation experience
• Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors
Compensation
$75,000 – $85,000. Please submit salary requirement.
