The Peace Arch, the only international gateway ever erected in the interest of peace among nations, was constructed on the boundary between Blaine, Washington and Douglas, British Columbia. The Peace Arch was dedicated in 1921 by Washington businessman and philanthropist, Samuel Hill, to celebrate the existing century of peace between two great nation, the United States and Canada.

McKaig Nature Education Center, owned and operated by Upper Merion Park and Historic Foundation and Upper Merion Township, is a 90-acre preserve with well-marked and well-maintained trails for hiking, dog walking and nature study. UMPHF also has the Old Roberts Schoolhouse, a historical one-room school house.

The upper Swan Valley area is unique in that it still retains a plethora of evidence of its varied history. There still exist old Indian trails crisscrossing our mountains. Old trapper cabins and marten notched trees are still around on the landscape. This area was homesteaded and settled at a relatively late date, primarily from the mid-1910's and later, with many artifacts and buildings of that particular era still in existence.

The United States Army Ordnance Museum is in the PROCESS OF MOVING TO FT LEE, VIRGINA. The Museum is no longer open to the public. The interior galleries have been closed and are relocating to Ft Lee. THE MOVE TO FT LEE IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED IN 2012. There is no longer an operational website or email access for the museum; phone only.
