The museum is located at F.E. Warren AFB, just west of Cheyenne Wyoming. The Museum is in historic Building 210, which was the Army commander’s headquarters at the turn of the century. You will find exhibits in the first floor rooms, as well as the museum annex building 211, depicting the history of missiles and that of the 90th Space Wing. On the second floor of Bldg. 210 are rooms that create a look back into the life of the men and women stationed at the post/base.

The Washington Monument is the Nation's first civic memorial to George Washington. Built in the neo-classical style, the 178'8" monument was designed by architect Robert Mills and was completed in 1829, fourteen years after construction began. Mills also designed our more famous sister monument in Washington, D.C. The Monument held a profound meaning for 19th Century Americans and it is even now recognized as the preeminent symbol of the city of Baltimore.

Look for a poster in the lobby which highlights a little of the rich aviation history of Sweetwater. During WWII, this hangar was on the “Civilian Side” of Avenger Field, where commercial planes landed. The military side was located where the Texas State Technical College campus is today.
