The Ford Museum’s collection reflects the life and culture of North Louisiana, Claiborne Parish in particular, from Pre-Columbian times to the present day. With exhibits ranging from Native American culture, Pioneer life, African-American history, and daily life in Claiborne Parish to the agriculture, lumber, and oil industries, the Ford Museum is a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning about North Louisiana’s past and present.

History, Historic House
Would you care for a glass of lemonade and a little conversation? A visit to our small town and its museum is something like a visit to your Grandmother's home and her home town. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. Enjoy the porch swing. Step inside the front door and it's a little like entering a time machine, like traveling back 100 year to a simpler time. A time of one room schools, the country store, the kitchen garden.

Hermione House was built in 1855 and now serves as the headquarters for the Madison Historical Society, Inc., and home to Madison Parish History. The antebellum home was completely restored as a museum and donated to the Historical Society in 1997. It showcases period pieces and exhibits depicting the history of the parish, including artifacts from the Civil War and also from the ancient Indian civilizations that once populated the area. Madison Parish is also the birthplace of Madam C. J.
