History
This museum contains western artifacts from early Meeteetse, when it was settled by cattlemen and homesteaders. Included in the diplays are photograhs from famous western photographer Charles J. Belden, who operated Meeteetse's well-known Pitchfork Ranch for a time. The museum also contains a historical archives for researchers. Meeteetse's original bank is part of the museum, and open for viewing upon request.

Our mission is to preserve the heritage of Meeteetse and its surrounding geographic area. We have on display the largest grizzley bear captured in the lower 48 states, black footed ferrets which were discovered on a local ranch after being declared extinct and the Charles Belden photography collection. We feature rotating exhibits on local history, events, people and maintain an archives for researchers studying the area.
