The adults in a child's life are his/her first and most important teachers and playmates. Parents and caregivers have the uniquely important role of introducing children to all of the magical discoveries our world has to offer. Please use your visit as an opportunity to engage and interact with the children, talk to them about what they are experiencing and teach them how to act as responsible young citizens

In addition to our living history programs, Eden Valley staff members are available for lectures and workshops in such areas as Ohio history, Canal history, and theatre. Eden Valley has also developed several murder mystery programs done in a similar style to the living history programs. These stories, done as dinner theatre programs or weekend events, allow the audience to become detectives and help solve the crime.

Historic Fort Steuben is a recreation of life on the Ohio frontier in the late 1700's when the young American government was planning to survey and sell newly acquired land: the Northwest Territory (which was to become Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin). The recruits were young and inexperienced; the supplies were limited; life was difficult.
