Originally built in 1901-02, this two story sandstone structure housed the Apache State Bank offices and other businesses throughout the years. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it now houses the museum, which displays local history including period clothing and antique furniture, books, more than 600 local photographs, original bank fixtures, art, medical and dental equipment, and other collections and memorabilia of many past citizens of Apache.

AHSMC Historical Museum is working to preserve and interpret the history of Sulphur, OK, from its time as part of the Chickasaw Nation, I. T., through it's two moves and resulting upheaval to the present day. Sulphur was a popular vacation destination because of it's natural springs, many of which were considered medicinal by early visitors.

We have a professionally-designed gallery, with 14 interactive and themed exhibits. We wanted vistors to say "Wow" upon entering the gallery, and they do! They are greeted by a Civil War era log cabin that tells the story of a Medal of Honor recipient, Ernest Childers of Broken Arrow, and 3 generations of his family.
