Museum Hours

Office hours are Monday and Tuesday 9-4, the research library is open on Thursday 1-9 p.m. and by appointment.

Admissions

there is a three dollarfee for non-members, membership is $10.00 per year for individual or $15.00 for a family membership

Description

Our mission is to collect and preserve information and artifacts relating to Boyertown's history and culture. We maintain a small research library and museum area to make those items available to the public. We are in the midst of planning a large WW II exhibit for the fall of 2006. Our next major project is a 100th anniversary event for the Opera House Fire.

History

We organised in 1972 to provide a resource to reserve the history of the Boyertown Area

Artifacts Collections

Our collection includes industrial artifacts, vintage clothing, World War II items, works by local artists and craftspeople, antiques, and local advertising items.

Research Collections

Our research collection includes local church and cemetery records, the local newspaper (on microfilm), will indexes, census records,local histories and completed genealogies. We also provide a variety of historical/genealogical periodicals and items pertaining to Pennsylvania German culture.

Publications

Our monthly newsletter keeps members updated as to upcoming programs and events. We also list any new library materials and activities of our various committees.

Programs

We hold program meeting the first Wednesday of each month, September through June. These programs deal with a variety of historical topics and are free to the public. We also provide tours and educational programs for children. Occasional workshops of historical or cultural topics are held for a minimal fee.
