Mission

Our vision is to provide the history of the town to visitors in an interesting way. By having programs on local history. To have a time set aside for folks to meet others who have lived here most of their life and to be able to ask questions about avon park. To take care of all the resources that are available to the public and keep them in an orderly way. To help writers and authors find information in our research room. To keep a record of obituaries for those interested. To serve as an educator for avon park history.

History

The museum was formerly the Seaboard Coastline Depot that opened in 1926. In 1981 it became a museum. In 1986 a 1948 California zephyr dining car was added.
