History
The museum was founded in 1968 as a cooperative venture between the City of Waco and the State of Texas. In 1973, the Texas Ranger Commemorative Commission formulated plans for construction of a Texas Ranger Hall of Fame to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Rangers. Subsequent expansion took place with the addition of Taub Hall (1979), John Knox Texas Ranger Mmeorial Center banquet hall (1982), Morris Gallery (1983), Brownfield Gallery (1985), and the Moody Texas Ranger Memorial Library (1989), now the Texas Ranger Research Center. In 1997, The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum was designated the offical state repository for Texas Ranger memorabilia. The Headquarters of Texas Rangers Company "F" is on site.
