Description

A visit to the museum is like a visit to your great-grandmother's house, especially the attic, and your great-grandfather's barn. At the same time, you'll learn how families earned a living in the 'good old days' - the 1800s and 1900s. You'll see how the town's economy changed from farming to the iron industry, and to tourism. You can spend two hours viewing the extensive collection in the 10-room Victorian house, the barn and the huge connecting shed.

The Franconia Heritage Museum is located in an 1880 New England Farm House with attached barn and sheds. Take a walk through the Farm House and see the Franconia Iron Works stove in the parlor, the rope bed in the bedroom, antique kitchenware in the summer kitchen and farm tools and sleigh in the barn and sheds. These treasures, historical documents and photographs are from various local families.

Please contact the Board of Directors at the email or phone listed and we will respond to your inquiry.
