History

Spend a day in a one-room schoolhouse reliving education of over 100 years ago. Appropriately costumed teacher conducts class using McGuffy’s Readers and slate boards. Students may be assigned roles of students of that period. Gift shop sells books, slate boards, toys, and candy from days of yore. Shop is open at the end of each session. Arrangements for this site are made by appointment only through Historic Medley District, Inc. at 301-972-8588. Make arrangements as early as possible; spring dates are most popular and fill quickly.
