The National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey tells the story of the state’s Militia and National Guard beginning with Dutch, Swedish and British colonization through the War for Independence to the Civil War, World Wars I and II and up to the present day, paying particular attention to the diversity of the New Jersey citizen soldier and his or her experience. Notably, the museum has one of the largest collections of New Jersey related Civil War research material in the country, including copies of diaries, letters, newspaper clippings, memoirs, regimental histories and articles.

The New Jersey Scout Museum focuses on people and places in New Jersey that have helped to shape and enrich the Scouting movement. Many special places across New Jersey are associated with Scouting, such as Schiff Scout Reservation, the Eisner Company factory in Red Bank which made the first Boy and Girl Scout uniforms, the former BSA national office in North Brunswick, the camps along the Delaware River where the Order of the Arrow was born and nurtured, and the Jersey Shore where Sea Scouts and Mariners learned the rules of the sea.

The main museum is located in Sea Girt New Jersey on the campus of the National Guard Training Center, there are also annexes at the Lawrenceville Armory.

The space allows the Noyes Museum to better serve the populations of Atlantic, Burlington, Cumberland, Salem and Camden Counties.
