History

Fort Sedgwick Historical Society evolved in 1960 from the Julesburg Historical Society.

Artifact Collections

Fort Sedgwick and Civil War artillery and firearms; artifacts from Julesburg I, II, and III. Rotating exhibits of period clothing, school photographs and documents; hands-on children's section.

Research Collections

Complete collection of Julesburg newspaper beginning in 1900; miscellaneous other local newspaper; abstract books from 1887 into 1944; several thousand photographs; extensive school collection of photos, documents, and memorabilia for Julesburg, Ovid, and Sedgwick. Microfilm containing military documents from forts in Colo., Nebr., Kansas including Fort Sedgwick. By address inventory of all residential and commercial structures in Sedgwick County up to 1995; etc etc
