Historical Society of Ocean Grove
Ocean Grove, New Jersey

Culture, History, Historic House, Historical Society, Library

Each year the HSOG offers a multitude of exhibitions, events, tours, and educational programs to residents and visitors, peaking in the summer months. We offer a permanent exhibition, History of Ocean Grove, and three special exhibitions every year, each on an interesting aspect of Ocean Grove culture or history. Our Exhibitions, Events, and Education sections describe them all! Our Museum is filled with an extensive collection of artifacts from Ocean Grove’s history, and we’ve highlighted a number of important pieces in the Collection section. Don’t forget to save some time for our Museum Store when you visit.

Art, Culture, History

Parlor Gallery shows emerging to mid level career artists. In November, we have a two woman show featuring Angie Mason and Kristen Ferrell. The ladies will transform the gallery into a magical bakery full of paintings, sculptures, clothing, and other goodies. December will be a group show for the holidays featuring our friends and artists we have worked with all year. We are away in January and come back to 2010 with our "Girls, Girls, Girls" show.

Township of Ocean Historical Museum
Oakhurst, New Jersey

History

?The Township of Ocean Historical Museum occupies Eden Woolley House, located at 703 Deal Road, Oakhurst, New Jersey 07755, in front of the Ocean Township Library and part of Joe Palaia Park. The Eden Woolley House, circa 1747, is one of the few 18th Century Homes surviving in Ocean Township. The house is an architectural gem and a 250+-year repository of local history. It was saved from destruction in 2005 and moved 1,000 feet east to its present location in Joe Palaia Park. It has been historically restored and open to the public to tell the story of Ocean Township and its surrounding communities. The house was occupied by the Woolley Family for most of its life.
