The Ashland Area Historic Preservation Society was established on February 24, 1999. The Society encompasses the history of: Ashland, Locust Dale, Lavelle, Gordon, Fountain Springs, Girardville, and surrounding areas. We are locals who have lived here all of our lives, out-of-stater's who have roots in the area, and newcomers who want to learn more about the place we now call home.

The Historical Society offers a variety of resources to aid the genealogist in their search for their ancestors. While some are HSSC reprints or publications and are available for purchase; others may be viewed in the library such as: maps, microfilms, newspapers and more.
