Our vision is to provide the history of the town to visitors in an interesting way. By having programs on local history. To have a time set aside for folks to meet others who have lived here most of their life and to be able to ask questions about avon park. To take care of all the resources that are available to the public and keep them in an orderly way.

The Children's Museum of the Highlands mission is to provide a safe area for children (ages 1-12) to learn and explore. Through exhibits and on going programs the museum provides ways for children to enhace their curiosity and develop their imagination.

To educate general visitors on the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps and the need to preserve both the heritage of the CCC and our natural and cultural resources. The CCC Festival held each year gives visitors an opportunity to talk to some of the men who worked during late 1930s and early 1940s to build and maintain parks throughout the country.

To promote the study and appreciation and development of the arts in their many forms and to provide a program whereby the community may benefit from such purposes.

The Museum of Florida Art and Culture is dedicated to artists of Florida whose work is an interpretation of the history heritage or environment of the state.
