The AMM is dedicated to collecting, documenting, preserving and telling the stories of the enlisted personnel who have served this nation honorably with skill, dedication and compassion for nearly one hundred years. Information preserved at the museum is made available through our displays, educational inserts, annual calendars, monographs, and the AMM unique enlisted airmen history book: Unsung Heroes: A History of Enlisted Airmen From the Dawn of Flight to Desert Storm. The museum collects the individual stories of enlisted service members through Airman Survey questionnaires. The AMM also tells the enlisted story through the SERGEANTS magazine, published monthly by AFSA.

Carlyle House Historic Park

Built 1751 - 1753, the house is the only stone Palladian mansion in Alexandria. Period furnishings and historical interpretation reveal the life of one of Alexandria's founders, John Carlisle. Guided tours explore topics of merchants, slavery and servants, town property, and the family life of the Colonial Virginia Aristocracy. Gardens on premises. Friendship Firehouse Museum

Home of the Friendship Fire Company. When the building was constructed in 1855, it became home to the oldest volunteer fire company in Alexandria. Exhibitions include early vehicles and other fire-fighting equipment.

Oxon Hill Manor

The Manor sits high on a hill with a picturesque view of the Potomac River from the garden area. The grounds include formal English gardens, rose bushes surrounding a reflecting pool, and a large brick patio for outdoor entertaining. Featured inside are exquisitely appointed rooms with wood floors, crystal chandeliers, and fireplaces. A sweeping circular staircase ascends from the first floor hallway.
