We are a local historical society founded originally to coincide with the Old Edgebrook Landmark District, City of Chicago. We have expanded our horizons to include Sauganash for Forest Glen, neighboring communities here on the northwest side of Chicago. We are centered in the Caldwell's Reserve of Billy Caldwell's grant from the US government of 1828.

The Evanston History Center is private, non-profit educational and cultural institution established in 1898 to preserve and share Evanston history. The EHC collects, preserves and tells the story of Evanston's past through tours of the Charles Gates Dawes House, interactive and engaging museum exhibits, a comprehensive research room and research collections, and wide-ranging educational programs.

The Morton Grove Historical Museum was built in 1888 by Nicholas Haupt as a home for his wife and eight children. His wife, Magdalena, died before the house was complete, leaving behind her husband and eight children. After Nicholas also died two years later, the Haupt children remained together in the house until the youngest was of age.
