After seven years and $2.5 million dollars, The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum (formerly known as The Old Citrus County Courthouse) proudly showed off her renovations in a public grand opening celebration on October 21, 2000. Traditionally, courthouses are symbolic to the founding, pioneering spirit of the people who settled and shaped their communities.

Heritage Hall Museum & Museum "Country" Store are located in the renovated Old Fire Station, which was vacated by the county in 2000. Initially opened only during Floral City Heritage Days (annually on the first Saturday of December and preceding Friday night), Heritage Hall was redesigned in 2009 and opened weekly every Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum is a cultural center with exhibit galleries on pre-history, local history and rotating exhibits. It is housed in the Historic 1912 Courthouse, a National Register of Historic Places building, where Elvis Presley starred in, the climatic courtroom scene, of the movie Follow That Dream.
