Newport News, Virginia
Presentation times are at 1:00p.m. and 2:00p.m. //// A native of Williamsburg, Virginia, Mr. Pritchett has been a full-time storyteller, taking his African and African-American folktales to over a hundred schools annually throughout the country. Drawing on his experience in historical African and African-American research, he has created a presentation "Scraps of History" which uses real documents from the 18th and 19th centuries to weave African and African-American history into the fabric of the American past.

$1 Admission at The Mariners' Museum and Park External Event Page
Newport News, Virginia
Venue: The Mariners' Museum, Anna Room
The Mariners’ Museum and Park seeks to unite people. May 25th through Labor Day, admission to the Museum will be reduced to $1 per person to engage as many people as possible because through the world’s waters, through our shared maritime heritage, we are all mariners. We are all connected to the world’s waters and, regardless of who or where we are, we are united as one global community through our shared maritime heritage. Everyone’s story has ties to the water – perhaps by career, family, or leisure – and The Mariners’ Museum and Park is here to tell your story. We are your museum. //// Group Tours Groups of 15 or more are required to book in advance, whether participating in a program, guided tour, or simply coming to the Museum for the $1 admission. This allows groups to gain quick admission to the Museum and is required to prevent back-up in the general admission line. To book a group tour, please contact Bree Kitchens, Group Sales Coordinator, at (757) 591-7731
