The Bay Model was state of the art in 1957 and functioned as a scientific research center for the US Army Corps of Engineers for almost 50 years when it was retired in the year 2000. Can an obsolete physical model still have an important function today? You bet it can. Join Ranger Linda to learn more and be introduced to two new exhibits.

Behind-the-scenes viewing of USS Monitor Collection every Saturday Through Aug 25 External Event Page

Come view items from the USS Monitor Collections storage, which is not typically not open to the public. Learn how we use the collection to understand the history of the little ironclad that saved the nation. Please meet on the ground floor of the Batten Conservation Complex. Times are 10:30 AM -11:30 AM and 1:30PM -2:30PM every Saturday through Aug 25. Viewings will be at 10:30AM-11:30AM and 1:30PM-2:30PM.
