The Muskegon County Museum of African American History is being developed by community people for community people. Its primary goal is to provide local historical African American legacy information that will instill pride and motivation for young African Americans. While there will be a state and national presence, the primary focus is Muskegon County.
We bring together people interested in history, especially the history of the Tecumseh area. We endevour to discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the area. We preserve these materials and provide access to all who wish to examine or study it.

Backstory: Across the vast landscape of America, many places have the power to capture our imagination with the stories of the people who lived there and the events that took place there. But only one place has the power to tell the story of the American Experience as a whole. And that place is The Henry Ford.
When Henry Ford first created his historic museum and village, nobody had ever seen anything quite like it. And nobody has ever since.
