The New Berlin Society was founded in 1965 in an old farmhouse on Cleveland Avenue. In 1977, the City of New Berlin purchased the Sprengel property, now known as Historic Park, on Prospect Hill. The Society has since Restored the house to its early 1900's period, Recreated a Country Store in the Carriage Building, Moved and Restored a local Log Cabin, and Rescued and Restored an 1863 One Room School House.

A visit to Norskedalen immerses you in the natural beauty of the coulee region of SW Wisconsin as well as in the immigrant history of the late 1800's. Norskedalen includes guided tours of the fully restored and furnished pioneer log farmstead, beautiful hiking trails, many special events and educational programming.
