Built in 1683 and occupied by Caleb Pusey, this is the only building still standing which can claim documented association with William Penn, and which he is known to have visited on several occasions. The cottage was continuously occupied as a residence from 1682 through 1959. Our group was organized in 1960 to undertake restoration of the house and property which by then had deteriorated to the point of imminent collapse.
The Thomas Massey House is a monument to the American dream - the home of an indentured servant who became a landowner, and like the American dream the house has endured almost 300 years. The Thomas Massey House is one of the oldest English Quaker homes in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

For 200 years, the Academy has connected people to nature. As Philadelphia's natural history museum, we educate visitors of all ages. Our scientists study evolution, biodiversity and ecology, providing information critical to understanding the natural world. These efforts are supported by a collection of 17 million biological specimens and a celebrated natural-history library.

An Adams County Historical Society was organized in 1888 and continued in operation for almost one year. A second society was organized in 1934 and ceased to function when its president died two years later. The third and present society began meeting in 1939. A charter of incorporation was secured the following year. The county commissioners offered some space in the basement of the courthouse, which the officers used to create a library, archives, and museum.

The borough of Alburtis was incorporated in 1913 by the joining of two boroughs, Alburtis & Lockridge. The Alburtis-Lockridge Historical Society began in 1976, the year of our country's bicentennial. We are a group to preserve the history of the villages of Alburtis and Lock Ridge.
The museum has a wide collection of armor, aircraft and soft-skinned vehicles. We rotate displays so that you may see something different on each visit. Plus each year we have increased the number of assets the museum holds. Watch for the completion of our Vietnam era firebase this year.
