The Lee County Black History Society, Inc. (LCBHS) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. The organization is seeking financial sponsors and volunteers. Your continued support is needed for: 1. General operational expenses for our non-profit administrative office functions and organizational activities.2. Collecting and preserving local Black memorabilia and artifacts.
3. Development of historical archives.4. Displaying Exhibits 5. Developing of the Living History Classroom.

The Museum has an extensive permanent collection that is exhibited in eight rotating galleries plus two changing exhibition galleries with five traveling exhibitions presented throughout the year. The Leesburg Historical Museum is located in the historic Woman’s Club Building just off Main Street. It houses artifacts and archives pertaining to businesses, city government, families, churches and social organizations that tell the story about Leesburg - from the days Leesburg was the Watermelon Capital of the country to the new millennia.

The Lighthouse ArtCenter is known for showcasing artists with local to international reputations. The Museum offers tours, lectures and special events. Art classes for children and adults are offered at the School of Art in painting, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry and more. Workshops with renowned artists are offered several times a year. Summer enrichment ArtCamps available for children ages 4 to 12.
