In March, 1999, RHS President Ed Walker and the City of Bowie signed a long-term lease agreement for The Radio and Television Museum. This fully restored, turn-of-the century building is located on a lovely corner lot in the City of Bowie, conveniently located, just off of Route 50 and the Beltway, near Washington, DC.

Based in historic Cambridge, the Museum is in the heart of Chesapeake country and captures the unique combination of wood, water and craftsmen that came together here to make the area one of the major centers of wooden shipbuilding on the Bay. Vessels built along these shores changed the course of the nation's military and economic history.

Riversdale, a National Historic Landmark, is a restored, five-part, stucco-covered brick plantation home built between 1801 and 1807. Construction of this elegant manor house was begun by Henri Stier, a Flemish aristocrat, and was completed by his daughter Rosalie and her husband George Calvert, grandson of the fifth Lord Baltimore. The Federal style mansion has particularly fine interior decorative detail. Numerous nationally significant figures later lived here, including several senators.

The Robinson Nature Center is a unique nature education facility situated on 18 acres of land adjacent to the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area, which provides over 1,000 acres of forest, meadows and river valley to explore. The three-story center is nestled into a hillside and was designed from the very beginning with energy conservation and sustainability in mind.

In Rock Hall, all roads lead to water. And all water eventually flows to one of the world's greatest estuaries, the Chesapeake Bay. With the advantage of easy access to the Chester River, Gray's Inn Creek and Swan Creek as well as a direct link to the Bay from Rock Hall Harbor, water-related occupations shaped Rock Hall's economic and cultural development from the very beginning…and continue to do so today. In the early years, the Bay served as a commercial link with more populated areas.
