We offer a variety of educational and recreational boat trips including historical tours, eco-tours, kayak trips, sunset cruises, sailing programs, and excursions to pristine barrier islands. Our exhibits, lecture series, and wooden boat building school provide a variety of educational experiences.

The chief responsability of the AAHS is the operation and management of the 1838 Raney House Museum which is owned by the City of Apalachicola and was officially recorded in National Register of Historic Places on January 22, 1973. The Raney House Museum has on display furniture, documents and other artifacts from the 19th century. Our vision for the Raney House Museum is to make it an outstanding repository of 19th century historical artifacts as well as an outstanding example of ante-bellum Greek revival architecture.

Members of the Raney family lived in the house until 1914 when it was sold to a local doctor.

Welcome to John Gorrie Museum State Park! While visiting historic Apalachicola, let Ranger Willie McNair interpret the local history and contributions made by famous resident Dr. John Gorrie. Plan a visit to the other areas managed by the Florida Park Service; The Orman House, Chapman Gardens, and the Three Soldiers Detail. They are also located in Apalachicola and St. George Island State Park is just across the bay.

The Raney House Museum is located in Apalachicola, Florida in a Greek-revival mansion built in l838. On display in the Museum are furniture, carpets, paintings, historic documents and other 19th century artifacts.
