To provide informative exhibits , publications, and educational programs which communicate to a diverse public the exciting aspects of marine biology and technology, and the state-of-the-art science being pursued at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution. To provide an intellectual setting for meetings, a high-quality marine-oriented gift shop, and research and teaching collections of biological specimens of local importance.

5 acre sub-tropical garden featuring vernacular architecture and collections of palms, bromeliads, orchids, herbs, bonsai and other plants. Gift shop on site. 64-acre expansion underway. Recently received 100 Bonsai from Bonsai Master Jim Smith. Display will be opened late April.

Here on the east coast of Florida, we are fortunate to live along the shores of the most diverse estuary in the United States - the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). The lagoon stretches 156 miles from Ponce De Leon Inlet on the north to Jupiter on the south, and harbors over 3,000 species of organisms. Even though the IRL is an everyday sight for many of us, few have ever experienced the unsurpassed biological diversity that lies below these waters.

The St. Lucie County Regional History Center is dedicated to the collection, preservation and promotion of St. Lucie County and the surrounding region's unique history. The permanent exhibit area takes visitors on a chronological journey through different time periods of the area's past.
