The non-profit Alaska Museum of Natural History fills a special need for science education in Alaska. No other organization in the state educates exclusively on Alaska's unique geological, cultural, and ecological history

Founding by steamship engineer James P. Allaire, our fully interactive early 19th century village is truly a travel back in time...into NJ's early history. Located in the beautiful depths of Allaire State Park in Wall Township, the trees will part and our village with it's hardworking villagers will come alive before your eyes. Whether it's touring our historical buildings, or helping a young lady cider press near the gardens...there is always something new to discover at the village.

The Allegheny Portage Railroad has many interesting things to see. Visit the Lemon House- a historic tavern built to accommodate travelers. Discover the Engine House- a replica of the many buildings that made up the Portage Railroad. Watch a movie in our visitor center and browse the many exhibits and models. Drive out to the Staple Bend Tunnel unit to hike and explore the nine hundred foot tunnel (remember you need to walk 2 miles each direction when visiting the tunnel).

Discover the rich history and culture of Amelia Island, a tiny paradise with a big place in Florida's history books. Housed in the historic Nassau County jail, the Museum showcases the island's 4,000 years of Florida history.

Amerind Museum exhibitions tell the story of America's first peoples from Alaska to South America and from the last Ice Age to the present. Amerind's Fulton-Hayden Memorial Art Gallery features works on western themes by such artists as Harrison Begay, Carl Oscar Borg, William Leigh, Frederic Remington, and Andy Tsihnahjinnie. The museum store offers southwestern arts, crafts, and books on prehistory, history, and Native American cultures.

The Annie Riggs Memorial Museum is open six days a week, and is located at the corner of Main and Callaghan (number 3 on the historical tour). Visitors can experience a thriving desert garden at the back of the museum, inviting benches on the wrap-around porches and an interior courtyard with a restored Pecos County buggy.

A very large private collection of American Indian Art/Utilaterian items from every corner of Native America. The historic Ataloa Lodge Museum offers one of the finest collections of American Indian art and life-ways in the United States, and each season on its grounds holds its own unique beauty.

The Atlanta History Museum at the Atlanta History Center is one of the largest history museums in the nation, featuring award-winning signature exhibitions that tell the story of the region's people, from its earliest settlers to the international city of today. The museum was started in 1942 with one small old building and today has 7 small old buildings.

Built in 1665, Preservation Virginia's Bacon's Castle is North America's Only Surviving Example of Jacobean Architecture and Oldest Surviving 17th-century English formal garden and Tidewater Virginia 1710 Barn. The 40-acre historic site includes a slave quarters and smokehouse.

The old Barrow County jail now serves as the headquarters of the Barrow County Historical Society and Museum. Visitors to the Museum will discover interesting tidbits of the county history effectively displayed. Located behind the original Barrow County Courthouse.

Our museum houses the collections of many people. There are things which will interest people of all ages. We hope to continue in the spirit of the founder and add to the collection at the Board sees fit. The major projects on agenda for now is up dating the grounds and working on some of the needed repairs. We are also exploring ways to increase attendance

Behringer-Crawford Museum in the historic Devou family home (c. 1848 - 1880) opened to the public in 1950. It was so named because it featured the natural history collections of West Covington native and world traveler, William Behringer, and in honor of the museum’s first curator and noted archeologist, Ellis Crawford.

Ben Lomond is an antebellum farm that served as a hospital during the Civil War. The home was referenced in many Civil War Era documents as the Pringle House because of the men who lived here in 1861. Many of the soldiers that were brought to the hospital penned their names and brief messages on the walls of the home.

Encompassing 142 acres, with various facilities and extensive nature trails, the primary focus of this site is cultural and natural history. The Historical Park & Museum is dedicated to the legacy of the Colonial farmer, clockmaker, mathematician, astronomer,and Federal Territority surveyor, Benjamin Banneker, known as the first African American man of science.

As you will see from the brief descriptions below, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is a vibrant, interactive science center, children's museum, accredited zoo and Planetarium. Kids, teens, adults and scholars use our resources to further their understanding of science and technology.
