We have a professionally-designed gallery, with 14 interactive and themed exhibits. We wanted vistors to say "Wow" upon entering the gallery, and they do! They are greeted by a Civil War era log cabin that tells the story of a Medal of Honor recipient, Ernest Childers of Broken Arrow, and 3 generations of his family.

Located in the southwest Oklahoma town of Hobart, the current museum is housed in recently-renovated historic downtown buildings. The 9,500 square foot facility includes a gift shop, a show room and display gallery that showcases items from General Frank's personal collection. The museum's theme of Leadership, Patriotism and Service is shared through many unique items, one-of-a-kind pieces, top secret videos and by the life lessons learned by General Tommy Franks.

Step through the front door of the Greater Southwest Historical Museum and you immediately enter South-Central Oklahoma's history. The museum is housed in Ardmore's former Oklahoma National Guard Armory. This native sandstone building was constructed by the WPA in 1936 and houses two other organizations. Within these historic walls you will find exhibits detailing the area's history from the mid 1800's to the present.

Caddo’s museum was the brainchild of Caddo’s Bicentennial Committee (1976). It opened in 1978 and since then it has been entertaining and enlightening visitors from across the country and around the globe. Some are just “passing through” and see the sign on the highway. Others are on a quest to find some bit of information about a mysterious ancestor or lost relative.

The Museum's 2½ acre compound includes a replicated Red River Trading Post, the original Blue Beaver schoolhouse and Elgin Depot, and a Frisco steam locomotive. The Artifact Collection of the Museum of the Great Plains consist of three primary divisions: ethnology, natural history and cultural history. Archives holds over 570,000 primary documents donated by area residents. The Archives is the repository for the Comanche County Courthouse records and the Lawton Constitution.

The Talbot Library and Museum specializes in historical and genealogical research material of Northeast Oklahoma, Northwest Arkansas, and Cherokee Territory. The facility also publishes a quarterly “T.L. & M. Genealogy” and is home to the “Goingsnake Messenger” quarterly. The Library & Museum operates solely on contributions and sales of Book Store and gift shop items. Its goal is to “Preserve a Bit of History”.

The Museum was opened June 2, 2009. Previously, the Artillery Collection was part of the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum collection. Our collection includes a representation of uniforms from each era. We have added many new pieces and exhibits to peak the interest of any history or artillery buff.
