Coos County Fairgrounds Museum

The Fairgrounds Museum maximizes hands on and live experiences. Most display materials stay in the ownership of the museum, individual or organization which provides them. Live music, video and spoken presentations encourage audience participation. A 1,000 sq foot model railway entertains as well as celebrates the logging and commercial heritage of the region. Large format photography encourages group discussions about the way it was.

Jefferson County Historical Society Museum

The Jefferson County Historical Museum, located for many years in the upper floor of the historic old County Courthouse in downtown Madras, was established in the 1970s. Since 2012, it has been “in storage,” waiting for a new home in the Westside Community Center. The Museum’s collection is crammed with historically significant objects, artifacts, records, photographs, and archival materials. Each item tells its own distinctive part of the story of Jefferson County from Indian times to the homestead and railroad-boom era, through the Great Depression and drought to the advent of irrigation, dam construction, light industry, and tourism.

Oregon Jewish Museum

The Oregon Jewish Museum's mission is dedicated to the preservation, research and exhibition of art, archival materials and artifacts of the Jewish people. It is the repository for archival documents, artifacts and photographs concerning the history of the Jews in Oregon and endeavors to discover and collect all materials that may help to illuminate this history.

Schmidt House Museum

After Anna and Flora donated their home to the Josephine County Historical Society, the Board decided to continue the Schmidt's tradition of hospitality by developing the house as a museum to benefit the community. The Schmidt House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 21, 2004, confirming the historic significance of the house. Historic buildings are a community's tangible link with the past in a world in which rapid technological change is occurring. Today, and in future generations, visitors can tour the Schmidt House Museum and get the feeling that all is as the Schmidt family might have left it in the early 1900s. These tours help give guests a sense of community identity and an orientation to their heritage.

The Museum of Natural and Cultural History (MNCH) is Oregon's primary repository for anthropological and paleontological collections. Officially created in 1935-36, as the Oregon State Museum of Anthropology and UO Museum of Natural History, the MNCH houses nearly 1 million ethnographic and archaeological objects and almost 100,000 fossils and biological specimens from Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, and around the world. With over 50 employees, the museum is a center of interdisciplinary research, preservation, and education.

Ruth Stoller Research Library

The Ruth Stoller Research Library is housed at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center, and is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10am-4pm, or by appointment. The research library includes photos of historic Yamhill County, genealogical and archival materials, and books on local history.

Springfield Museum

The museum is housed in the former Oregon Power Company Transformer Station, Originally constructed in 1911. It is situated in the heart of historic downtown Springfield and is surrounded by large, colorful murals painted by renouwned artists. Because of its important role in Oregon's early utility industry, the building is listed on the national register of historic places.

Yamhill Valley Heritage Center
McMinnville, Oregon

The museum showcases Yamhill County’s agricultural history, including more than 75 antique tractors, horse-drawn equipment, vehicles, and displays of many artifacts from the 1800s and early 1900s, an original 1880s one-room schoolhouse, logging, and dairy displays, and working blacksmith, and sawmill shops.
