Speed fiends have been traveling to a largely out-of-the-way barren piece of land in northwest Utah for nearly a century now in their quests to achieve velocities most other people can only dream about, and in all that time there has never been more than a small, now defunct museum to commemorate those pioneers. Two men are well on their way to changing that, however, with their plans for the Bonneville Speedway Museum quickly taking shape.

At present we have a temporay museum, but within a year we will have raised $1.5 million dollars for a new state-of-art museum for all our artifacts, histories, personal journals and an extensive digital photo archive about the entire South Davis County area around Bountiful. Located on an 84-acre river tract of land near the Weber River, the fort symbolizes a period of western history that was the transition from nomadic ways of the Indian tribes and trappers to the first permanent settlers in the Great Basin. Frontier Homestead State Park Museum interprets the history of Iron County history related to the ecclesiastical story of the Iron Mission, and related horse-drawn transportation. Period focus is from the first Mormon settlements (1850's) through the 1920's, marking the period just prior to the establishment of modern mining efforts and the use of mechanically-powered transportation in Iron County.
