This fascinating museum houses the authentic re-creation of oil discovery and production in the early 1930s from the largest oil field inside U.S. boundaries. Here, visitors see the people, their towns, their personal habits, their tools and their pastimes – all colorfully depicted in dioramas, movies, sound presentations and actual antiques donated by East Texas citizens.

Children's, History, Natural History
The El Campo Museum of Natural History began as a storage site for Dr. E. A. Weinheimer to store his collection of trophies. Since the beginning in 1978 to the present, the El Campo Museum has become a major tourist attraction for those who travel to our area. Within the past twenty years, the Museum has changed its name, mission statement, vision, and location. What once began as a tourist stie inside the Chamber of Commerce has now become an ever-wondrous experience.
El Paso, Texas

In the late 1950s, an arrangement was made with the Kress Foundation for a "permanent" loan of medieval and renaissance art.

Waxahachie, Texas
History, Historic House
The Ellis County Museum is attempting to update its operation and museum practices while maintaining a certain amount of small town museum charm.
