Church, Historic House, Historical Society
This is a Church building built in 1854 with slave labor. It served as a prison for 97 soldiers of the 30th Illinois from the Battle of Briton Lane which is four miles behind the church. It is being restored. The building has hand hewn lumber, put together with square nails and windows made on site. There was a Masonic Lodge on the second floor with a pit for induction of converts to the York Rite of the lodge. One of only two known in Tennessee.
