The museum honors women's contributions to teh Army from the Revolutionary War to present, telling their stories with artifacts, interactive exhibits, videos, dioramas and historical diplays and photographs through the galleries.
The museum's collection and archives originated from the Women's Army Corps Museum at Fort Mclellan, Alabama. It was moved to Fort Lee, VA and opened as the US Army Women's Museum in the Spring 2001.
World War II items to present belonging to women in the Women's Army Auxillary Corps, Women's Army Corps and the US Army.
Extensive archives from World War I to present. Over 400 albums, 120 oral histories, 200 training type films and vast collection of documents, manuals and photographs.
