We hope to become more immersed in the huricane information with our major focus on hurricane awareness and preparedness.
History
The museum is an original beach house that was donated to the City of Gulf Shores after Hurricane Fredrick. It has been a Library and Rec Center for the City and has been the home of our Lagoon Village exhibit since 1999.
Artifacts Collections
Several items from the early fishing and shrimpping industries in Gulf Shores and Bon Secour. Atifact relating directly to specific hurricane.
Research Collections
We have a collection on the Speckled Trout fishing Rodeo which was first sponsored by the Lions Club. We also have a collection from several of our local WWII veterans. We have a small exhibit about an early village located in the area of Navy Cove from the early 1900's where Lower Bar Pilots and their families lived.
