The Micanopy Historical Society Museum exists for the purpose of collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of Micanopy and its surrounding area. Artifacts representing life at the Micanopy site from pre-historic times to the present are retained for research, education and exhibition in the Society's Museum. The Museum shall cooperate with the State of Florida in the protection, exploration and interpretation of the archaeological resources of the immediate area. The Museum shall promote educational outreach in the Micanopy community.
