The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is the "mother church" of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, and was established in 1857. It's Bavarian-made stained glass windows are the best of their type in the Western-Hemisphere. Adjacent to the Cathedral Church, located on the lower level of the MacDougal Chapel, is the Cathedral Museum, which houses religious artifacts dating back to the mid-13th century.
