Museum fee of $1 adult and free for children to age 16
The museum features an anthropological collection representing American Indians of the Californian, Great Basin and Southwestern Culture Regions.
California State Parks announced May 13, 2011 a plan to close 70 of its 278 parks due to budget cuts. These cuts are mandated by AB 95, which was passed by the Legislature and signed into Law by the Governor. These closures are through the years 2011 – 13. This facility is one of the 70 closures.

Our 2024 WVAM Conference will be held at Shepherd Universit
in Shepherdstown, WV on June 6-8, 2024
WVAM conference is a program of papers, presentations, workshops, and poster sessions addressing our theme of “America at 250: West Virginia Plans for the Semiquincentennial.”
We’ll kick off the event with a virtual day on Wednesday, July 24, hosted in collaboration with the Association of Midwest Museums (AMM). Then, we’ll gather in-person at the Hilton Columbus at Easton from July 31-August 3 for sessions, networking, and museum exploration. The SCFM Annual Conference is a time where we can celebrate the impact that museums have made on the state of South Carolina. It’s a time where we can share our successes, learn from our challenges, and grow as museum professionals.
We look forward to this year's conference September 16-18, 2024 in Laurens, SC. This year's theme is Fostering Community: There is No Museum Without "Us."
